  12. Rothany,

On SNES emulator, when you select "Load ROMS", by default, it should be under ./roms directory.
If it's not, you can select/navigate to ./roms directory.

BTW, do you see files when you do this?
    ls /gp2x/snes/roms

  13. Hello, how I can update jTerm to 1.6? The Market is still showing v. 1.4

  14. Roms don't show anywhere still..where exactly should I put them

    ReplyDelete
  15. you can put rom files in any directory.
when you select "Load ROM", you will see this one.

    ../

if you select this one, it basically go one directory above.

  17. did you install all package from root directory?

so, you should have the following
    /gp2x/menu
    /gp2x/snes

    and /roms directory is in
    /gp2x/snes/roms

  19. yep debian is in root directory the a folder name gp2x then inside that a folder names snes then insides that a folder names roms with roms in it but still no go

  20. It sounds like a problem with debian file system.

Where did you get your debian package?
And which android build are u using?

  21. Snes works well for me. Good work Jrioni. The only bugs i have come accross are sometimes when using three buttons the third doesn't work. example: on super mario world i can run right and jump (d,enter+del) but i can't run left and jump (s,enter+del) which has got me killed a number of times!! could this be a limitation of the g1 keyboard? Would it be possible to change the keys used (maybe in a config file)?

    ReplyDelete
  22. i'm pretty sure it is a limitation of the keyboard because you can see it happening on the command line. If you hold enter then hold d then press del the d's stop appearing but if you hold enter then hold s then press del nothing happens (the s's carry on appearing). Moving all the direction keys over to the right by one would fix it for left but not down! The keys that don't work with enter and del are:a,s,g,h,j,l,x,c,n,m

  24. ok...that has to work!

Are you able to run cps2?

Did you format SD card to ext2? or fat32

  26. I cannot see the 1.6 version in the market either. Im in the US, still using 1.4.
Also, when i do cps2 emulation, pushing buttons during game opens the contact program in the background, and that command line that rooted g1s have. Slows everything down with the screen flickering.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Don't we have one market place at least in US?
Why some people don't see the update?

For gp2x emulation, please do not (accidentally) press Home or Back button.

It will switch to Android UI which will have a conflict with Gp2x.

When it happens, switch back to Android mode (t.ball dwn + Enter), run Jterm and press 0 to exit.

    ReplyDelete
  28. nvm..got the update now, but its still losing focus with contacts popping up in the background.

    ReplyDelete
  29. My card if formated to fat32 should it be ext2 ?

    ReplyDelete
  30. no fat 32 is fine...mine is fat32...

  31. With the update, the "my downloads" section on the market home page wasn't showing an update. I searched for it like normal then I saw the update. Im sure a lot of people use apps on the sd card, like me. Mabye that has something to do with it.

Back to the screen conflict I'm having: I am not pushing back or home keys. It happens when im pressing keys on the keyboard. Like if im just on the home screen and press k,l,enter or any of the keys that you have to use to play gp2x the contacts open up. But this is also happening in game. Somehow jterm is loosing focus.
Im using the chrooted install of debian instead of the older image method. Do you think that would matter? Have you tried this method? Its newer and was more stable when using vnc viewer for me.

  32. Lance, thanks for sharing the info!

Ok, this is basically what's (should've been) happening..

Gp2x app is interacting with kernel directly.
For keypad event, while gp2x is listening, android also listens and processes the event.

So, when you switch to gp2x mode in jterm (t.ball down + Enter), I basically disable all keyevent to android except system keys (Home, Back, End) as long as you STAY in jterm (not pressing End/Home).

I haven't tried chrooted version but my only guess now is that you made a switch to gp2x mode but then came back to android mode...

Please make sure you press t.ball down + Enter only once to enter into gp2x mode.
If you press again, it will resume back to Android.

  33. i tried ls /gp2x/snes/roms
    no files show

  34. Hey JRIONI,
Long time fan here. I know you already have your hands full... but I was wondering, is there any chance you would make an emulator for old PC games, like GTA 1,2 (the top view ones) and Adventure games like Broken Sword 1 and 2? These games used to run on very weak Pentium processors, almost a decade ago...

Thanks man, wishing you the best!

  35. I have a plan for warcraft (over dos emulator) but that's about it for pc side.

  36. TareX

I cant help you with the GTA games but there is already a program in the android market which emulates the Broken Sword point and click system called ScummVM. Just search for it in the android market, its a free download.

If you want any more information try the ScummVM website www.scummvm.org

    hope this helps.

P.S. Keep up the good work Jrioni!! this is a fantastic project you have here and its mind blowing things like this which are the reason I got a G1 in the first place, Thanks for all the work you have done and I hope it can continue for a long time to come.
